Owning who I am
As I sit with my boys waiting for my husband (daddy) to get home for dinner, I have a question in my mind. What makes me who I am? Really, of all the parents out there, what makes me my unique self? I can think of a few things that come to mind. But I invite you now to also ask yourself this question.

No Magic Wand!
"I just wish I had a magic wand!" We have all heard this phrase before. The truth is that life and parenting can be so unpredictable. Any...

Breaking away from the obstacle
We can’t stop the flow of water. Go ahead and try to put a rock in the river or put your hand under the faucet and try and stop it from flowing. The only time water is ever turned off if we physically do it. Picture a faucet or a valve. The world is eighty percent made of water. What does that tell us about what we truly have control over? If we are powerless to stop the flow of water, how can we assume we have control over other thoughts, opinions, and actions. But we sure w

I release you... and commit to showing up
This week I felt through memories, failures, embarrassments, abuse, harsh words, thoughts, and faced fear in myself and the parent I became. A Second Chance

She accepted Jesus into her life at the age of 6. She lived with her mom, dad and brother. Walking in the light of a Christian home everything looked "put together." This all changed when an affair changed her family's lives. Her parents were separated for 9 months. God healed their marriage after much betrayal.

Somewhere in Judah
Ever feel like every day is the same? Get up try and use the bathroom before little mouths wake up hungry, immediately get breakfast on the table, try to spend some time with God, throw on a movie or show that has already been asked for like the 400th time, just as you are about to eat yourself your adorable 5 month old wakes up so that's out because he needs to nurse. Your older son is watching T.V. your youngest is nursing and just to have some "you" time you are on your ph

Come to the Lighthouse
I wrote a song recently called, "Come to the Lighthouse." It's beautiful, but still needs to be worked on so I'm not ready to share it just yet. The lighthouse has always been a beautiful thing to me! The waves crashing up against it mercilessly, and yet it still stands a beacon in the night. It's the greatest example for me of when Jesus told Peter, "On this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it" (Matthew 16:18). Think about that fo
